Send and receive text messages on iPhone
Use the Messages app
to send and receive texts, photos, videos, and sound messages. You lot can also personalize your messages with animated effects, Memoji stickers, iMessage apps, and more.
Send a message
Yous can transport a text message to one or more than people.
at the top of the screen to start a new message, or tap an existing message.
Enter the phone number, contact name, or Apple tree ID of each recipient. Or, tap
so choose contacts.
On models with Dual SIM, to send an SMS/MMS message from a dissimilar line, tap the line shown, then cull the other line. Encounter also Manage your cellular plans for Dual SIM.
Tap the text field, type your message, then tap
appears if a bulletin can’t be sent. Tap the alert to try sending the bulletin again.
To run into what time a message was sent or received, drag the message chimera to the left.
To view conversation details, tap the name or phone number at the peak of the screen. You lot can tap the contact to edit the contact card, share your location, view attachments, leave a group chat, and more.

Share your proper noun and photograph
In Messages, you tin share your proper noun and photo when yous start or respond to a new bulletin. Your photo tin be a Memoji, or custom image. When y’all open Letters for the outset time, follow the instructions on your iPhone to cull your name and photograph.
To change your name, photograph, or sharing options, open Messages, tap

Some businesses allow you to communicate with them directly, to enquire questions, resolve issues, get advice on what to buy, make purchases with Apple Pay, and more.
Search for the business you want to chat with using Maps, Safari, Search, or Siri.
Start a conversation by tapping a chat link in the search results.
The appearance of the conversation link varies—it could be a button, a text link, or the visitor logo.

Messages sent to participating businesses appear in nighttime gray, to distinguish them from messages sent using iMessage (in bluish) and SMS/MMS letters (in green).
